7HHEP-Zack's Review:
7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE:
1. BE PROACTIVE.
2. BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND.
3. PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST.
4. THINK WIN-WIN.
5. SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND, THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD.
6. SYNERGIZE.
7. SHARPEN THE SAW.
Before I Begin, I want you to remember, "Be The Change You Wish To See In The World". Because when it comes to change, "EVERYONE LIKE TO SEE IT BUT VERY FEW WILL ADAPT IT". What do you think a Habit is? Do you know? Many of the greatest leaders, BusinessMagnets, Richest Ones, Innovators, Scientists, Philosophers, Famous Guru's and Monks are the people who possess "Habits" in their day-to-day living! A Habit is a combination, a mixture, an intersection of KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & DESIRE. Knowledge- what to do and why. Skill- how to do. Desire- want to do it. It all should come from instinct motivation(from inner self) to take it into action, to take care of our own minds first before we try to judge or blame or mistaken someone.
In Habit 1 Steven Covey explains things like Production Capability(PC), Differences between Circle of Concern(COC) and Circle of Influence(COI), Proactiveness and Reactiveness, Paradigm Shifts, Stimulus and Response, Initiative taking, Listening to our language, Making and Keeping Commitments, Inside-Out Approach, by giving the examples from different areas of his life. They are all related to a single concept which is to Be Proactive. It is like planning things ahead, seeing opportunities in every area of the life we are living to develop ourselves every single hour. He explains the importance of seeing the World as it is, not as we are. I don't like to say the things in detail here as it violates the copyrights. It's like when we like someone to read the book, we need to leave their minds with questions to think it of, then it works in their minds to go grab the book and finish it off. And he gives his clear cut explanation of Independence, Dependence, and Interdependence.
NOTE: Reading this book once brings only 5% of the nourishment to your brains and using it as a workbook can make you what you really want to become.
In Habit 2, Writer makes you to visualize the things which you might not have thought. Power of Affirmations, Visualization, Imagination, Conscience, Left Brain & Right brain are so clearly explained. The impact of having personal mission statements for Organizations, Families and individuals will help you to change yourself by inside out approach. And Centers in Circle of Influence are clearly shown. The importance of Leadership and Management was well-defined. 9 different centers such as Spouse Centered, Family Centered, Friend Centered, Enemy Centered, Self-Centered, Possession Centered, Wealth Centered, Church Centered and Pleasure Centered are explained based on 4 pillars Security, Guidance, Wisdom and Power of an Individual.
He finally concludes it by explaining the importance of being a Principle Centered person to lead life with Principles by being proactive rather than reactive individuals.
Thinking differently, acting differently based on our own scripted living rather than relying on others makes us what we truly want to become.
